Advanced processes safeguarded by specialist operators
Situated at the northern tip of the island, our gas plant is equipped with an advanced control system powered by automation. The computerised distribution system enables specialised plant operators to control and monitor production and ancillaries from a central control room. Our highly experienced gas plant operators oversee the smooth, continuous supply of piped town gas by operating continuous reforming plants and cyclic reforming plants, which comfortably support base load operation and peak requirements. Piped town gas consumption fluctuates during a 24-hour cycle, reaching its zenith at meal preparation times, namely 10am to 12pm and 5pm to 7pm.
Town gas mainly comprises hydrogen and methane, which are cleaner. We are conducting studies to further reduce carbon emissions by using low-carbon energy sources such as green hydrogen.
