Changes in Leadership at City Gas

City Gas would like to announce that as part of a planned leadership transition, Mr Perry Ong Kong Khoo (王光枢) will be appointed as CEO-Designate of City Gas Pte Ltd1(“City Gas”), effective 1 September 2020.

Mr Ong will then take over as CEO of City Gas on 1 October 2020 from Mr Kenny Tan (陈全发), who will step down to pursue other interests.

Mr Ong brings more than 29 years of experience in entrepreneurship, marketing and general management to City Gas. Before joining City Gas, he had been CEO at NTUC Foodfare Co-operative Ltd since 2008, where he grew NTUC Foodfare into one of the largest F&B operators in Singapore today. During his tenure, he led several key growth initiatives, including the acquisition of the Kopitiam Group and Wang Café.

Before that, Mr Ong held various leadership positions in other leading food services companies in Singapore. He has also served on the Singapore National Co-operative Federation as its Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Audit Committee and as the Chairman, Self-Reliance Committee of the Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC). Mr Ong is currently a member of the Food & Beverage Industry Skills Council in the Singapore Workforce Development Agency.

Mr Matthew Pollard, Chairman of City Gas and CEO of Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management Pte Ltd, the trustee-manager of Keppel Infrastructure Trust, said, “We welcome Perry to the City Gas team. We would also like to thank Kenny for his dedicated service at City Gas for the past four years, during which City Gas steadily grew its business from serving 760,000 to over 860,000 customers.”

Mr Perry Ong holds an MBA (Distinction) from the University of Birmingham in the UK and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.
