While it currently offers a range of co-branded gas water heaters, the rising popularity of gas water heaters in the Republic led City Energy to create its own brand. City Energy said that demand for gas water heaters has increased by 20% compared to pre-COVID levels, and 70% of new private condominium units with piped gas are fitted with gas water heaters.
Available in six vibrant shades – Slate Black, Orchid Pink, Glacier Grey, Icy Blue, Cool Green and Cotton White – the innovative home solutions at the Life by City Energy store blend functionality with style, setting a new standard for gas water heaters in Singapore.
The water heaters stand out not only for their sleek, compact design and elegant glass finish on the front but also for their energy-efficient features. Energy-efficient home appliances reduce energy consumption in households, and gas water heaters are more energy-efficient than electric storage water heaters, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA).
Additional features include stylish touch controls, smart self-adapting temperature regulation for consistent comfort, a quiet DC inverter exhaust system compared to an AC inverter, and Wi-Fi connectivity with app control for added convenience.

In-store and online promotions will run from 29 August to 14 October 2024, with the newly launched gas water heaters available for pre-order at a discount of $100 from a recommended retail price of $550 (including GST) at the COMEX Show 2024.
City Energy will also offer a seamless one-stop conversion from electric to gas water heaters for existing homeowners, allowing them to enjoy the outstanding benefits of energy-efficient gas water heating.

Research conducted by NUS Associate Professor Lee Siew Eang indicates that switching from electric storage to gas water heaters could reduce carbon emissions by 80%, potentially saving more than 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 annually1. This reduction is equivalent to planting 1.42 million trees or removing over 300,000 cars from the road. Additionally, households can save $1,200 on utility bills over the gas water heater’s lifespan.
