City Gas Pte Ltd, as Trustee of City Gas Trust, announced today that the gas tariff for households will increase by 0.3% from 21.01 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 21.08 cents per kWh from 1 May to 31 July 2014, due to a rise in fuel costs compared to the previous quarter. This will increase the average monthly gas bill for a 4-room flat by $0.06.
City Gas reviews the gas tariffs based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the gas industry regulator. The revised gas tariffs from 1 May 2014, which have been approved by EMA, are as follows:
