City Gas Pte Ltd, as Trustee of City Gas Trust, announced today that the gas tariff for households will increase by 1.39% from 1 November 2013 to 31 January 2014. This is due to an increase in fuel costs of 3.4% compared to the previous quarter. The gas tariff for households will increase from 20.89 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 21.18 cents per kWh.
City Gas reviews the gas tariffs based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the gas industry regulator. The revised gas tariffs from 1 November 2013, which have been approved by EMA, are as follows:
