City Energy announced today that the gas tariff (before 9% GST) for households will increase by 0.07 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), from 22.28 cents per kWh to 22.35 cents per kWh for the period from 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2025 due to higher fuel cost compared with the previous quarter.
City Energy reviews gas tariffs every quarter based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA). The fuel cost component of the gas tariff for each quarter is set using the average fuel prices in the first two and a half months in the preceding quarter. The gas tariff may fluctuate quarter to quarter due to volatile global fuel prices driven by geopolitical factors.
The revised gas tariffs below have been approved by EMA:
